May 21st review

So in order to welcome in the warm weather...  Dusty got a grill!!!

Also, the music was excellent!  The first band played an assortment of compositions, mostly originals with the exception of one Brad Shepik tune.  For the most part the pieces seemed to exist more as motivations for improv through which the four musicians navigated quite musically.  The sound was certainly that of a group of long lost friends who, having been reunited, had new things to share with and behold in each other.

Second set, Sons of Daughters,  I have to say, its not every day a group rolls through sounding like a band, and how!  These guys were fearsomely comfortable with each other and each others' music and the results were stunning.  If you ever get a chance to hear them, or their new record "midwestnorthsoutheast"avaiable at http://patrickbreiner.bandcamp.com/ do it.
